My second full-odds shiny?

Sunday afternoon; after having just defeated Diantha again, I needed to change out some Pokรฉmon at the PC. Not thinking, I rolled through Aquacorde Town and eventually came to the Santalune forest. Realizing that I can't fly through, I decided to ride on through on my bike. After some lame Caterpie and Scatterbug encounters, I was nearing the end, with just one more patch of tall grass to go. At the last single blade of grass, I was annoyingly greeted with by one last encounter. To my surprise, I got one of the worst shiny Pokรฉmon I've ever seen.

Even though my shiny level 100 Gallade (not to flex) knew false swipe, I didn't dare attack it, as it's a 1/4096 chance this li'l guy even showed his face. I tossed an Ultra Ball at him and after I caught him, saved about a trillion times. Next I had to go show off the catch to the DCL Kid.

What was my first full-odds shiny? A Magikarp in Sootopolis City.

Subscribe, nerds.

Sonic the Movie Review

Last night, I left my small hole in suburbia and went to the theater to see the Sonic Movie.  And it surpassed my expectations! It was a surprisingly good and enjoyable to watch.

I could see the appeal toward younger human beings, but hey, it's Sonic. It's practically meant to have references to the video games. And Sanic. Pay attention to the part where he's talking about the residents of Green Hills and you'll see. And Green Hills itself is a reference to the classic first level of the games. These Easter eggs are one of the ways the film is a rewarding watch for nostalgic gamers and memers alike.

Overall, I'd give it a 8/10 because no Knuckles.

But if you do watch it, STAY FOR THE AFTER CREDITS SCENE!!!!!!!✈️✈️✈️✈️๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช✈️๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช✈️๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช✈️๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช๐ŸŸ๐Ÿšข✈️๐ŸŸ✔️๐Ÿšข๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช✈️๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ stay epic, gamers

Bruh

Tomodachi Life! Such a weird game, where your favorite friends, family members, and Jedi come together to play a game, get in fights and want new hats. I love this game.

I mean, sometimes it's too perfect, like when the Regginator himself and Jonesy from Fortnite have a real battle royale to settle their 15-minute disagreement.

Super Bowl Sunday: people go to parties, hang out with friends, but no no no! If I'm enjoying my life, who's gonna give Link or Matt from Wii Sports a new hat? Also, the wood head dudes (robots in Europe) wear football Jerseys on Niners v Chefs day. Pretty cool indeed.

It's not a new game. It's not a relevant game. It's probably not gonna be even semi-relevant until they port it on the new console in 20 years. But still I love it.

I'd like a new hat.

I'd like some new clothes. Something ___ would be nice.

I'd like a new look for my apartment.

I had a fight with ___. I'm so upset.

Please help me calm down first.

I feel a lot calmer now. I'm going to try to patch things up.

I'm sorry about what happened.

I'm sorry too.

I'm still not over it.

I have feelings for ___.

Where should I tell them?

How should I tell them?

Should I get changed first?

Ok, I'll get ready and then DO IT!

(Insert bad pickup line)

I'm sorry.

I was rejected. Ouch.

What am I doing with my life?

Things I want for New Horizons

First, I need to clear something up. You know I haven't been posting for months now and I know that too. The reason is, school started again, and plus, nobody reads these. Anyway, you may know that Animal Crossing New Horizons is coming out next March. If you don't know already, I'm a HUGE Animal Crossing fan, having played all of them except the originals (Including Population: Growing, all the Animal Forests, etc). But I have played Wild World and up.

Things I want in New Horizons:

•More depth to the Roost Cafรฉ. More drinks and treats, a Brewster Amiibo Figure, more things to do there, K.K. Slider goes back in.

•A new form of the campground, maybe the Docks, where instead of RV's there are small house boats.

•An alternative to crafting. The one thing I don't like about New Horizons is the crafting. Maybe it'll turn out OK, hopefully there's no Pocket Camp wait after crafting something. I still hope there are shops like Re-Tail and the Nook store.

•More holidays. Maybe bring back old ones like the exercise thing from Population: Growing.

•A Golden Fish. One thing that would be cool is to have a medium size fish known as the Golden Fish that sells like a Golden Stag.

•Brutus. Look it up.

•In-Game Nintendo Switch. It can play either D.I.E. or Puzzle League, or another game. Maybe bring back Population: Growing's retro game players.

I would love to have all these in game, but sadly, neither Nintendo nor the general public will see these ideas. Sorry for not posting in a while, Nobody.

I'm a Lucario Main now?

Yeah, I switched over from Ridley to Lucario partly because I was going on a Disney Cruise (Another good time for a shout-out here to my brother, DCL Kid) and they had Smash Wii U to play at Edge, the middle youth club for 11 to 14 year olds. But that's not the main reason. The reason was, I get up to high percentages often with my play style. Lucario takes advantage of that with his aura becoming stronger the more damage he takes. Also, he gained aura even faster when he was down stocks so that works out with my skill and DCL Kid's skill. (He's better than I am)

Mario Strikers on Switch?

At E3 this year, there was gameplay of Luigi's Mansion 3. In a corridor in the hotel the game takes place in, there was a picture of Mario doing a Megastrike from Mario Strikers Charged.
You can see it on the right side of the hallway. This can either be a reference, and the second one to Charged in the Luigi's Mansion series, the first being the elevator in Dark Moon, it played Charged's pause music. Or this can be a little early leak for the next game, 12 years later. Hopefully we get a new game.

Go Back.

Go back to a simpler time. Go play games you haven't played in years. Go back and play Minecraft, go and play Pokemon. Hey, even go play Pac-Man of that's what you grew up with. That's the thing with videogames. Your Minecraft dog is waiting for you, your Pokemon are itching to battle. I grew up with the Wii and GameCube. Metroid Prime, Wii Sports, Mario Kart Wii.

The best Smash Bros. Ultimate controller?

Recently, we acquired a GameCube wireless controller for the Switch and it really has seemed worth it. I was stage-spiking, wombo-comboing like never before with my Ridley. I have never been really good at Smash Ultimate but I seem to be showing improvement with this new controller.

Tomodachi Life Theory

Oh, I sure hope that MatPat can crack into this one.  If you ever played Tomodachi Life on the 3DS before, you know all the weird stuff your Miis get into.  But the only ones that can leave the island, except on a vacation, are the kids your married islanders have.  So I have a theory that the Tomodachi Life island is a prison.  When you collect the donations by the fountain every day, the prisoners are slowly paying off their fines.  They were sent to an island instead of a normal jail.  Think about it.  They live in small, one-room apartments, and can even give them a prison cell room theme!

Season 9!

Yesterday, Fortnite: Season 9 started! I was away for the live event on Saturday, but an Ali-A video later I was all caught up.  Then we got the teasers.  They hinted at the word NEO, meaning new.  We have three new locations.  Neo Tilted is where Tilted Towers was pre-eruption, mega Mall in Retail Row's spot, and pressure plant is where the volcano is.  The Pump Shotgun has been vaulted, in exchange for the Combat Shotgun, a trash version of the pump, only found in Rare, Epic, and Legendary.  The Tommy Gun is back, and I believe the Heavy Shotgun is not far behind.

I am going to make something amazing pretty soon.

Today I will start making the Laws of Potato.  This will be a very long post constantly getting updated and formed.  However, I am looking for another editor, so if you know me in person, let me know if you are interested.  The Laws of Potato will be made using the power of memes and brain juice.  So, yeah, that's it.

Fortnite: A Story

A long time ago (two years), a company on the small side called Epic Games set out to make a game that combines the zombie survival of games like Left4Dead and the building elements of Minecraft. In 2011, a trailer was released for a grim, horror-type survival game called Fortnite. Fast-forward about 6 years and Fortnite was initially released. The game was released for $40 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.

The game wasn't nearly as popular as games like PUBG, which had been recently released and already a popular title, or Minecraft. So Epic knew they had to do something. They looked at PUBG and thought that they could incorporate the Battle Royale theme into Fortnite as a different game mode. And, just two months after Fortnite's early access release, Fortnite: Battle Royale was released.

Way back in September 2017, it didn't have a lot of the stuff out today. No Tilted, no Ali-A memes, no build battles (wish I started that early). It was originally planned to be a add-on to a now-named Save The World mode, but Epic made a good choice to release it for free.

The original Battle Royale mode had no skins available, no Duos, no LTMs, so it was basically a bunch of defaults running around shooting each other and bush camping. No one really was an excellent builder, at least for today's standards.

Eventually, Season 1 started. For the first time, players could buy skins and cosmetics. Instead of the battle pass, you had to level up enough to unlock the items, and then buy them with V-Bucks. To get the entire season's worth of items, you had pay a total of 4,400 V-Bucks.

Season 2 brought one of the most innovative cosmetic unlock systems so creative and well-built that other games like PUBG and even non-Battle Royale games like Rocket League incorporated. It's called the Battle Pass. By doing challenges you could unlock skins, emotes and other cosmetics.

Season 3 started the storyline with Omega and Carbide having battles and facing off until it all revealed to be just a movie.

At the start of Season 4, Dusty Depot was changed into Dusty Divot, a wide, open, crater with a research base in the center. Inside the base, they researched the meteorite, which housed the Visitor. Towards the end of Season 4, there was a rocket being built in a secret mountain fortress. At the end of Season 4, the rocket launched, almost obliterating Tilted Towers and creating a giant portal, now known as a rift, in the sky.

Season 5 started off big, with the biggest map changes anyone had ever seen at that time, with Anarchy Acres replaced with Lazy Links, and Moisty Mire replaced with Paradise Palms, Dusty now has trees, and of course a sprawling, rocky desert area with a junkyard, what people now call Little Mexico, a rest stop, race track, and restaurant.  Of course, the city with the hotel, keyboard shop, endless swimming pools and three vending machine spawns.  Season 5 is also the time I started playing Fortnite.  I look back at those days, the Drum Gun days, where it was so easy to get a win, compared to nowadays.

Dusty now is a fertile, forested crater less appealing to snipers from that mountain by Salty.  Eventually, the Cube was created near Paradise, and made its way from location to location, leaving runes on the ground and eventually stopped at Loot Lake, sinking, changing the surface to a bouncy, purple substance, and seemingly disappearing forever, right?  Wrong.

Season 6 brought some new changes to the way we play Fortnite, with Shadow Stones, corrupted areas and, of course, the Island.  Apparently, the cube was not done yet.  It rose up, wearing the island in the center of the lake as a hat, with players able to fly around it in a cyclone.  Eventually, it made its merry way on back to Loot Lake, and appeared to leak purple goo into the whirlpool.  And it turned grayer everyday.  And as I was preparing to hop into a match and watch the live event, guess what?  We had to go to Kohl's.  So it exploded, if you've been on this site since October, I covered it already.

And then there was Season 7.  As the iceberg got dangerously closer and closer to the island, it made impact and added on a big chunk of land on to the southwestern quadrant.  Guys, right now we need to pay a respect to Greasy and Flush.  Those were my second- and third-favorite places to land (Shifty, baby!).  Planes were also added and removed in this season.  The Prisoner slowly melted free along with the castle at Polar Peak.  The Ice King showed off his power in the Ice Storm event and the zombies came with it.  Of course, I was away.

As Season 7 came to a close, the snow and ice melted some more, barely touching Tilted Towers.  And then there was Season 8!  What's not to love about dragons, a volcano, pirates and bananas?  I don't know what Season 8 has in store just yet, but as soon as I do, I will let you know (but with my work ethic and habits, probably not).

So did you guys enjoy this?  It was sitting unfinished in my draft box for months and finally got it done.   This is probably the longest post I will ever write (work ethic again).

It is a very sad time.

So, this season brought us some great skins and locations.  I, for one, love Lazy Lagoon.  But it also brought us a very sad,, sad, fact.  In the lobby, have a look around you. Chances are, you won't see a Default. What you will see, my friends, are SOCCER SKINS. These are the worst!

Top 3 games of 2018

I added two new "gadgets" to the sidebar, next to where your eyes are right now. The first, a Google Translate option, because apparently, Game Potato has been blowing up in Portugal. Next, we have a list of my top three games I am playing currently. These will usually be newer games. Currently, as you might be able to see, depending on the time you are reading this, my top three games are Fortnite, Smash Ultimate, and PUBG Mobile.
And now, ladies and gentlenoobs, my top three games of 2018! And no, the Fortnite Seasons don't count.

3. Pokemon: Let's go Pikachu! and Let's go Eevee!: These were two anticipated games, and while I don't actually have these games, the compatibility with Pokemon GO is clever.

2. Luigi's Mansion 3DS: The first adventure of the great green ghostbuster himself is already one of my favorite games, so when it came out on 3DS, it was a big win.

1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Hands-down the best Switch game ever. Taking every single smash and combining it with new gameplay and fighters. (I do want a remake of Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode, though.)

Happy 2019!

December in a Nutshell

Listen. I haven't been posting because of schoolwork and of course, gathering research data (Or what normal people call, playing videogames). I have some news. I'm cancelling Fortnite Potato. Alright ladies and gents, I know it sounds like a Grandayy video but here we go: December in a nutshell! Thursday, December 6: Fortnite Season 7 update, the biggest season map update, adding a whole new chunk of land, snow, the Block, Creative mode (which non- battle pass users didn't get to enjoy until later) and PLANES! Friday, December 7: Smash Ultimate is released! I've been playing that, have all the fighters (Dark Samus baby!). Thursday December 19: The 14 Days of Fortnite started. Complete a simple challenge each day to earn exclusive rewards, also, a new or returning LTM in each day. In Save The World you can get loads of loot each day. I got great stuff from a gold loot llama! Yeet!

Welcome to Gezeiten: My Fan-Made PUBG map!

I spent a long time working on it. Gezeiten, meaning 'tide' in German, is an island off of Germany. Excuse the handwriting, I prefer typing over writing any day. A few things I would like to point out: Sturminsel, off to the right, meaning Storm Island in German, is a island with a light house on the top of a steep hill. Next up we have one of my favorite places, Papierkorb, meaning Wastebasket, in the southeast, is a junkyard. Another, Shwertberg and Campingplatz, meaning Sword Mountain and Campsite respectively, are a big mountain and a heavy forest. Finally, my favorite, Hafendorf! Meaning Harbor Town, it has docks, and tall buildings. It would be like Tilted Towers in Fortnite.

New Blog

I've noticed that I have been putting a lot of Fortnite posts and I want the Fortnite lovers and the haters to both be happy. So from now on, I am no longer blogging Fortnite posts here. I'm putting all new Fortnite posts at the first secondary branch of the Game Potato, the Fortnite Potato. I have no idea what the next branch will be. Maybe Smash Ultimate, maybe Metroid Prime 4. Who knows?

The Cube is kaput!

This weekend, the beloved Kevin began to spin really fast. Faster and faster it went, until it exploded. Boom! We saw at the very end of Season 5, the Cube melted into Loot Lake.
Then, at the beginning of Season 6, it rose rose and conquered the Battle Royale Island by slowly flying around.
Then, it circled back into Loot Lake, now called Leaky Lake. And there Kevin sat, sporting his new hat, the Loot Lake island. Until about 1 PM on the 4th. Our purple pal began to spin... Then... BOOM!
Every player in a game right now, (EPIC removed playground for a few minutes while the event was going on, probably so streamers couldn't get 100% good video, without others) was warped to a white dimension with no ground, and no health bars, minimaps or inventory. There were strange rifts flying around shaped like butterflies, so when the butterflies touched you, you warped back into reality, in the game and on your couch.
Now there are pretty islands dotting the lake, and there is this rad back bling called Lil' Kev.
This bling is really cute, with the googly eyes and the description. "Loves to play in the lake." I can tell you where I am not dropping in my next game. I expect a name change to Leaky really soon.

Fortnite Save the World

Remember when I said I was never going to spend money on Fortnite? Well, I was wrong. Yesterday I bought the standard PS4 Founder's Pack for $20. I bought it while it was half off, and I got Braniac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez for free. So far I've collected 200 additional V-Bucks, which I now know V stands for Vinder, as in Vindertech, the people who made the Battle Bus' balloon, the drops, and the standard glider shape. Also, I got two legendary skins, two back blings, two gliders, and an assortment of banner icons.
The Rose Team Leader and the skirmish back bling are on the left, and the Warpaint and Pursuit back bling is on the right. Overall, I think it was a good way to spend money, and I would spend $40 to get it.

The very first Nerf Fortnite blaster has been announced!

The first Nerf Fortnite blaster, supposedly of many, has been announced. We have a picture, a vague description, a price tag, and a release date.
Credit: IGN
The dart blaster is motorized and clip-fed. It comes with a 10-dart clip and 20 Nerf Elite darts. It will cost $50 USD, and will be in stores on June 1, 2019. Here's something you don't know: I was considering making a Nerf blog instead of a videogame blog, but what would I have called it? The Dart Potato? The Nerf Potato? The Blaster Potato? Anyway, this makes me happy to blog about.

Fortnitemares

Yes, today, Fortnitemares is open, and it is super exciting. As you may or may not know, Epic also added the soaring mechanic to all game modes. The crossbow is back. The Loot Lake island is kaput, yet Kevin the Cube prevails. Oh, and there are now husks, similar to Save the World. The pumpkin launcher is back, and now there is a cool male skin similar to Calamity. Not that I would get it or anything. There is only one skin that I like.
Please don't ditch my blog just because I've never spent money on Fortnite.

Metroid Prime 4 Predictions

Before I start, I just want to say I have been 2 for 2 with Metroid-related videogames. First, I predicted that the next Metroid game would be 2D on the 3DS. Then, Samus Returns was announced. Second, I guessed that there would be two new Metroid characters in ash Ultimate. The next Nintendo Direct reported Ridley, and eventually Dark Samus. So, you can trust me with what I am doing. For Metroid Prime 4, I think there will be a better multiplayer mode (PvP, Co-op) and there could be a new separate game that has all four Prime games, or maybe the first three could come with the fourth, all remastered in graphics and mechanics. Maybe that's what is causing the quietness of Nintendo. Anyway, I don't want to overdo my predictions, and once I find out if I am right or not, I'll blog on it. Peace.

The Story Behind the Potato

Every weekend I spend hours in the basement on a comfy red couch playing Fortnite or Star Wars or Pokemon or whatever. Sitting there, I had the idea that brought Game Potato to life. Couch Potato. Game Potato. Oh, and sometimes even my dog comes and licks the couch. Not that that's important or anything.

The Best Pokemon of all time

Mudkip! In the first ten minutes of my Pokemon Alpha Sapphire journey, I met this blue-orange bucket of fun for the first time. Soon, it evolved into Marshtomp and I was like ๐Ÿ˜ฅ and it was like ๐Ÿ˜. Yeah. At that time, since I had little grasp on the concept of Pokemon farther than the cards... So, two summer weeks of Marshtomp looking at me like it wants a pokeblock every time it knocks out a Zigzagoon or sometimes even a Poochyena. Then at level 36, Marshtomp exploded into a Swampert. That was good, I think. Yeah. Then it was able to mega evolve. I don't feel good putting it in the PC or even the day-care. Well, what can I say? When you bring your favorite Pokemon from level 5 to level 100, you are kind of attached to it. I got kind of scared when my dog chewed up the game card, but the game still works. The only problem is that the card gets stuck in the slot. So there is the beginning of my Pokemon life in a nutshell. I herd u liek mudkipz. Me too.

Metroid Prime 4

Back in E3 2017, Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch. Metroid Prime for the Gamecube is still in my top 3 favorite games, and I cannot wait for when it comes out in 2019. Given the lack of game details in the announce teaser, and the silence during all the Nintendo Directs, I don't think it will be a January-February game. Hopefully, it will be out for my birthday in April, though the only hints about the game is that blue fire covering the title. I am definitely buying it. No matter the cost.  (EDIT: 5/10/19) The game was scrapped and has been restarted, this time being developed by Retro Studios, the people who made the first one.

Welcome To Game Potato!
